Not many people know this, but a working holiday in Zante as a jelly girl can be one of the highest paid jobs abroad. Jelly shots is a fairly new initiative in Zante so some bars have their jelly shot girls being a waitress and shot girl. This is where you look after tables and collect glasses whilst encouraging people to buy shots from you or the bar.
Being a jelly girl is fairly straight forward, you have a number of ‘jelly shots’ (test tube or syringe shots) and you get 1 Euro for each one you sell.
The job basically involves floating around the bar or club making conversation/flirting with the guys and selling them shots. Girls who do this job abroad in Zante won’t just have a great time, they’ll also have a very lucrative working holiday this summer!
We would recommend girls arrive in May so you’ll find a wider opportunity of summer jobs in Zante. However, some bars only offer trials in May and don’t start hiring until the start of June when the season picks up.
Shot girls working in Zante get commission. You’ll be paid on the number of shots you sell in the bar or club you are working in. How much you make will depend on how busy the resort is. Working during high season can make you 40-60 Euros a night, while during low season it could be from 20-40 Euros a night (not forgetting your free drinks all night!).
It’s a commission based role so if the resort is quiet there will be less money to be made. Also you will need thick skin and NOT easily offended as you may need to handle some drunk people talking to you.
please note: The advice given by our advisers is based on the previous season’s statistics and can only be used as pre-season guidance as the popularity of a resort can change from season to season.
